A church of our size serves its members and the community because those in the congregation make it happen. The church is not a building or the ministers or the staff. There is a place for everyone to paraticipate, whether regularly or only occasionally. These committees and tasks are often ordinary and in the background, but they are absolutely vital. The church works because of Church Works.
Buildings and Grounds
The Building and Grounds Committee, a sub-committee of the Board, oversees the physical plant of the church, including repairs, long-term maintenance, energy-saving modifications, and gardens.
Computer and Technology
The Computer and Technology Committee advises the Board and Congregational Administrator on aquisition, operation and maintenance of the computers used by the ministers and staff, the servers, Wi-Fi, printers and other technology required to make us effective and efficient.
The Landscape Committee consults with Building and Grounds, and helps with the maintenance of the rose garden, Til Evans garden and other plants in our landscape. Contact: Jim Brice.
Library and Archive Committee
The Library and Archive Committee maintain the Hamaker Library and the church archives. Contact: Harry Wachob
Membership and Growth
The Membership and Growth Committee strives to make the church more visible in the community; welcomes visitors and integrates new members; supports diversity and multicultural activities; and encourages the present members to affirm thier commitment to being Unitarian Universalists by telling their friends about this church.
The Music Committee supports the Music Director and the Accompanist, developing the music for the second Sunday Service, concert programs, and other music activities within the congregation.
Members of the Nominating Committee are elected by the congregation at each Annunal Meeting. They find candidates for the Board of Trustees, Planning Council, Program Council, Representatives to General Assembly, and Pacific Central District Assembly, and for the Nominating Committee, itself.

Saturday Work Day
The first Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to Noon is Work Day. Make UUCPA even better by joining others to fix, clean, plant, prune, paint, organize, and do what needs to be done. There will be snacks and fine company. Come for some or all of the time. Join the Workday email list to get the latest information about upcoming workdays, or look for a notice on Announce.
