Our fundraising events provide our Members and Friends with nifty goods and services (including great entertainment), provide the event organizers with an enjoyable way to contribute their time and talents, and give UUCPA significant additional income.
Eachyear in November, UUCPA enjoys a festive party with live music and fabulous cuisine, at our Auction. For both adults’ and children’s auctions, Members and Friends donate goods and services from homemade jams to vacation homes and dinners galore. There is a silent auction with amazingly creative offerings, and, a live (and lively) auction with good humor abounding.
UUCPA’s Bookstore is open before and after our Sunday services. It is located in the lobby of the Main Hall and is staffed by church volunteers. All proceeds are donated to UUCPA.
In a church that has no “doctrine,” each individual is responsible for developing his/her own religious perspective. Thus, our main thrust is to provide material that will inform and inspire those who are on a spiritual path, and those who are looking for one.
In addition to selling new books, the Bookstore staff sells donated books. You can leave books in the closet in the Main Hall Lobby. Any unsold books are later donated to Friends of the Palo Alto Library, so they are well used whether here or there.
Each year in the late summer, UUCPA hosts a Yard Sale. This allows members to recycle usable goods to our neighbors as well as Members and Friends.
Each year in January UUCPA hosts a sale of gift-quality items. Here you can find some real treasures and benefit UUCPA at the same time.
By signing up for eScrip, when you make purchases at any of the participating merchants (including on-line merchants), a portion of what you paid for your purchases will automatically be contributed to UUCPA. This happens at no cost to you in any way. Don’t delay – sign up today!
