Youth Activites

UUCPA COMING OF AGE STARTS THIS SUMMER!

Calling all 8th, 9th and 10th graders interested in having a great time while learning about your faith!  Our Pacific Central District of the UUA is again coordinating a district-wide COA program for all congregations, and UUCPA is participating.

The program is designed to help our young people:

    • explore their own spirituality;
    • develop a deeper understanding of Unitarian Universalism;
    • continue the lifelong process of values clarification;
    • recognize and accept responsibility for the consequences of their decisions;
    • explore their options for service, both to the church and to the community;
    • deepen their relationships with each other and with adults in the church
    • come to a positive understanding of their capabilities and;
    • test themselves against their own preconceived limits.

    Besides all this worthwhile content, the youth will have opportunities for overnights in other churches, participate in social justice and church service projects that are fun, and get to know some really cool adults.

    This year the enrollment is limited to 60 youth from the entire district, so space in the program will go quickly.  To obtain a registration form, check the UUCPA website or the CRE table on the patio, or contact Rev. Eva.  Upon receiving the required signatures, each family is to mail the form into the PCD Office in Oakland.

    If families have questions, they may contact any of the COA Committee members:

    Rev. Eva Českava, Susan Evard, Lisa Helmonds, Susan Plass, Bryce Perry (Board liaison)
